- Summary
- Art historian V. A. Verlaine and young nun Evangeline were once plunged into an ancient battle between a secret society and the angel-human hybrids known as the Nephilim. A decade later, Verlaine is still haunted by Evangeline's betrayal; and the Nephilim are on the rise, scheming to construct their own paradise in the Angelopolis. Verlaine has been ruthlessly pursuing them in his new calling as an angel hunter--but when Evangeline materializes, he's besieged by growing doubts. Soon, forces more powerful than the Nephilim draw the two from Paris to Saint Petersburg and deep into the provinces of Siberia and the Black Sea coast, where the truth of Evangeline's origins lie.
